Effective Practice – Working with Women

This guide highlights where we have seen our standards delivered well for women managed by the Probation Service.

It is designed to help commissioners and providers improve their work with women being released from custodial sentences or serving community sentences.

Whilst front line probation faces many challenges, this guide identifies examples of what probation practitioners can achieve through partnership working, imagination and innovation.

Based on effective practice identified during our inspection of ‘The quality of work undertaken with women: A joint inspection by HM Inspectorate of Probation and HM Inspectorate of Prisons’.
