Effective Practice Guide: Offender Management in Custody, pre-release (adult services)

Published:
Subject:
Thematic
Year:
2022
Open document

Based on effective practice identified during our thematic review of the Offender Management in Custody model.

This guide is based on information sourced while undertaking the custody phase of the OMiC thematic inspection. Throughout the guide, we explore what good OMiC pre-release practice looks like, against our standards. We share an overview of the experiences of people in prison subject to OMiC; with thanks to DWRM for their research. The guide then shares real-life examples of leadership, implementing the model and staffing and different aspects of effective case supervision pre-release.
