Open document

Based on effective practice identified during the joint inspection of the Integrated Offender Management Approach (2020).

This guide includes an overview of IOM and the requirements of an effective approach, as identified in the thematic inspection. The guide then explores IOM leadership/partnership and integration, sharing effective examples in the form of videos from Wales (discussing leadership and governance) and South Yorkshire (highlighting multi-agency work).

The guide explores people on IOM, practice and casework, identifying key expectations. Examples of effectiveness are shared from South Yorkshire (regarding their people strategy and resourcing) and from London (regarding how one practitioner strives for effectiveness).

To conclude the guide explores IOM evaluation, benefits and impact and an example is shared from South Yorkshire regarding why evaluation and data analysis in IOM in Sheffield is essential.
